Maiko Asami
1983年東京生まれ。
1996年頃よりパンクシーンに傾倒。パンクバンドのフライヤーデザインや、オリジナルTシャツのデザインなどの活動を開始する。
以降、パンク、ゴシック、ニューウェーブ、エレクトロなど、様々な音楽シーンに触れる。
2001年武蔵野美術大学デザイン情報学科入学。 主にカルチュラルエンジニアリング、アートディレクションを専攻。
2004年卒業制作「Bust Corset For Androgyne」が学科賞受賞。
卒業後、同年に第14回東京国際レズビアン＆ゲイ映画祭にて、アートディレクター・パンフ レットチーフエディター・併設展覧会のキュレーターを兼任。
翌年 カイザー雪と日本初のレズビアン＆クィアカルチャーウェブマガジンTokyo Wrestlingを設立。
以降、エディターとしてコンテンツの企画・構成、併設のオンラインショップのバイヤーとして、商品のバイイング、オリジナル商品の企画デザインを担当。
同時に、国内大手美容・繊維系企業のファッション研究所にてデザインコンサルタント・マーケティングプランナー、IT企業にてアパレルサイトのウェブディレクター、エレクトロパーティーfancyHIMのオフィシャルカメラマンなどを経験。
その後、10代からD.I.Y.で自身のためだけに続けてきたアクセサリー制作を独学で学び直し、2011年3月にブランドBLACK TRIANGLE DESIGNとして始動させる。
また、2012年にNeo Dark Age Queer Dance Party SODOMを立ち上げ、ブランドと並行してパーティオーガナイザーとして、自らのインスピレーションソースとなる国内外からダークミュージックシーン/オルタナティブクィアシーンの新鋭アーティストを多数招致している。
Tokyo based designer,Maiko Asami has launched her handmade unisex leather accessory label "BLACK TRIANGLE DESIGN" in March 2011. she has started her carrier as a designer since she was teenager. at that period she was into Punk music and started making T-shirts for some punk shops and logos/visuals for some bands. from that age, she was always wearing some D.I.Y. handmade jewelry made by herself. eventually she studied cultural engineering and Art direction at Musashino Art university.
She is also known as an editor of "Japan's first International Queer webzine Tokyo Wrestling.com and organizer of Neo Dark Age Queer Dance Party SODOM. She has derived her idea from her background which is underground queer culture and music scene.
As the triangle represents a Nazi concentration camp badge worn by inmates deemed "asocial" and the symbol of lesbian or feminist pride and solidarity. She is making fashion which has got attitude mixed with street fashion and high-fashion element.
