8th collection となる今回は、昨今のダークミュージックシーンの EBM(Electro Body Music)* リバイバルを受け、 80 年代中盤~ 90 年代前半にインダストリアル音楽から EBM が派生し興隆した時期のアートワークを インスピレーション源に、現代のストリートモードファッションにマッチするようにデザインしたコレクション。
差し色として赤、ホワイトノイズの特殊プリントのレザーを使用し、EBM 興隆期アートワークのプロレタリアート風のカラーリングを再現。 また、新たな素材としてアウトドアスポーツ / 建設現場など使用される強化ゴムを耐久性の強いポリエステルで包んだショックコードを 取り入れ、スポーティでインダストリアルなデザインと付け心地 / 耐久性の両立も考慮。技法としてはハンドスティッチを多用し、 製品としてのクオリティと均一さを保ちつつも、ハンドメイドでしか作れない複雑な構造と味わいのある風合いに仕上げている。
※ 80 年代中盤にインダストリアル音楽から派生した電子音楽の 1 ジャンル。サンプラーやドラムマシン、メタルパーカッションを使用し、ハンマービート / ボディビートと 呼ばれる反復的でダンサブル且つ肉感的なビートに、工業音等のノイズを乗せ、攻撃的なボーカルを重ねたスタイルが主流。代表的なアーティストとして D.A.F、FRONT 242、 Nitzer Ebb、Skinny Puppy、Front Line Assembly 等が挙げられる。この時代のインダストリアル /EBM は主に「工業生産される大衆音楽」へのアンチテーゼであったり、 情報化していく高度産業消費社会への不満や警告等を背景にしている場合が多く、アートワークもプロレタリアート風のものが目立つ。
With this collection we are paying homage to the EBM (Electro Body Music) revival movement in the contemporary dark music scene. BODY PRODUKTS is inspired by the artwork and iconography of the EBM music scene that flourished in the mid 1980s-early 1990s with its unique sounds and textures derived from industrial music, but one with a new vital energy to its powerfully danceable form. Our collection channels this underground cultural essence and combinesit with modern mode fashion.
Using red and white noise printed leather, we reflect the atmosphere of EBM iconography/artwork, while our new material “Shock Code” - normally employed in construction and outdoor sporting - gives a look simultaneously industrial and active
- comfortable and durable, careful hand stitching imparts a feeling of both quality and warmth to the work.
